The Hangman

It shall to nobody be a surprise
That one day I, the hangman shall also die
In my hands the prisoners cry
Though I hate none in despise

I carry out the bloody work not for my entertainment
But to fulfil and satisfy the slated judgement
But just within me, it augurs no well
For I felt my ways takes me to hell

Many souls have departed from me
For they never cross my quarters alive
But I can feel their painful tears and presence
At their feet swearing a thousand oath of vengeance

I pray to thee, o souls, to forgive my sin
Because of the shed blood as to what I’ve seen
